NEUST EXTENSION SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The Department of University Extension Services is anchored on the educational credo that an educational institution, to be truly effective, should serve the community where it stands. Since its inception as vocational training institution, the NEUST has performed its role as an educational institution assisting the government in developing people and communities. It has then become a major player in propelling growth and development in the province of Nueva Ecija and its environs. Having undergone various paradigm shifts brought about by the changes in local, national, and global development, the Extension Department now offers the following services/programs.
Community Outreach Program for Empowerment and Development (COPED). The University believes that God mandated each educational institution to develop the underserved and the underprivileged. Likewise, it recognized the University�s mission to develop people and communities; hence this program has been conceptualized. The COPED is now being carried out in the different towns and municipalities. The program has six (6) key result areas to able to assess if the university has been able to achieve its program goals:
KEY RESULT AREAS
Economic Development. Undoubtedly, the most pressing problem of the country is poverty. The University has tasked the different colleges and campuses to develop livelihood skills training programs which will enable the target beneficiaries develop specific livelihood programs which will help them attain self-sufficiency.
Social Development. The goal of empowerment would never be achieved unless the people have been developed into a responsible constituent who recognized his major responsibility in nation building. It is the desire of the program to develop each Novo Ecijano into a responsive individual conscious and aware of its duties and responsibilities as citizen of the Philippines and committed to treat his fellow men as his equal before the eyes of God.
Infrastructure Development. The University through it College of Engineering and Architecture envisions assisting in the infrastructure development of rural communities. It is then the goal of the University to improve the living condition in every remote rural community through this program.
Development Administration. Likewise, the program envisions assisting the barangay and municipalities in improving their governance system through the technical assistance and consultancy services the different colleges and campuses could provide.
Environment Development. The program likewise aims to provide training program that will develop the skills of the people in promoting ecological balance and zero waste management. Solid waste management will not only maintain ecological balance, it could still provide livelihood program for the underserved and the underprivileged.
Agricultural Development. The program aims to increase agricultural production and promote organic and urban farming. This answers the call for all SUCs to assist the government in bringing food on the table of every Filipino.
Technical Assistance and Consultancy Services. The different colleges and campuses have a pool of experts who are being tapped as resource speaker on various developmental issues and concerns.
Community Organizing. The University Faculty Members are providing leadership training and assist in community organizing.
Training and Manpower Development. All the campuses and college have specific skills training program which will assist in developing people and communities.
M R S U P � The university believes that empowerment could only be attained if the community people have strong faith in themselves and faith in them could only be developed if they have strong faith in God. Through the moral recovery and spiritual upliftment program, it is envision that majority of the people could be able to make a difference.
Linkaging and Networking. The University will also assist each community and people�s group in sourcing out for their programs. They will be linked up with local, national, and global agencies that could assist them in their undertaking.

Community Training Center. The Center offers accelerated vocational training programs which are conducted in the University or in the community upon request of specific barangay within the province or in the city of Cabanatuan. The following are offered:

Gender and Development (GAD). Cognizant of the need to elevate the status of women in the society and promote their welfare and condition, the university has implemented the following programs for women:

Literacy Program for Out-of-School Women
Psychological Interventions for Battered Women and Raped Victim
Academic Extension Programs. Pursuant to the goal of the Commission on Higher Education for Equity and Accessibility, the university has organized academic extension programs in remote municipalities in Nueva Ecija. The program which is directly supervised by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, is a partnership with the following municipal/city governments:

Agricultural Development and Food Production. Cognizant of the nagging issue on poverty, the university joins the government in its advocacy to fight global hunger by bringing food in every table of all Filipinos. This could only be realized by developing and promoting the welfare of the agricultural industry in the country. It is in this light that university has made agricultural development and food production as one of the program thrusts of the Extension Services Department. Through the direct involvement and supervision of the Gabaldon Campus, the following activities are being undertaken:

Development of Model Farm for Rice Production and other Vegetable Products

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
The integrated solid waste management program involves several phases which include, among others, research, technology transfer, production, income generating projects, and agricultural production. The following activities will be undertaken.

3. Fabrication of Equipment
4. Collection and Segregation of Wastes

8. Conversion of Recycled Material into Commercial Products for Income Generating Activities
9. Establishment of a Prototype Organic Farm
